From Korp: multiple Arm mount "check out TV" installations

Subject: multiple Arm mount "check out TV" installations

This type of installations can be the trickiest.

All measurements have to be precise in order to get “line of soldiers” completion.

Mounting holes need to be preset at exact measurement and held in with 3” lag screws.

NEWS: Extend HDMI v1.3 over 1 CAT-6a Cable.

Gefen Extender for HDMI v1.3 Over One CAT-6a Cable Makes Extending HDTVs and Projectors at 1080p/60 Easy and Economical

CHATSWORTH, CA - Connectivity solutions provider Gefen today announced the availability of its improved version of the Extender for HDMI v1.3 over One CAT-6a cable.

This sender/receiver system delivers high definition video at 1080p full HD with up to 12 bit deep color support up to 175 feet (53m) in length using just one shielded CAT-6a cable. Resolutions at 1080i/60 can be extended even further up to 250 feet (76m). All HDMI v1.3 features are supported including lip sync audio, Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio.

With this extender, installers can cut cable costs by half as previous solutions required the use of two CAT-5 cables to reach the same distance. WDisplays mounted on walls or projectors installed on the ceiling can receive their HDMI signal from a source located in a rack mounted area or closet. At the 175 foot extension length, the system can accommodate most large conference rooms, retail or entertainment spaces.

"This extender was designed to offer professionals a reliable alternative to the use of two CAT-5 cables," said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO, Gefen Inc. "If a building is already wired with one CAT-5 cable, installers can tap into the existing infrastructure at a shorter distance and avoid new cable runs. But with one CAT-6 cable, this system will streamline the installation even further and extend the range of extension."

The Gefen Extender for HDMI v1.3 over One CAT-6 works with all high definition devices available today, including set-top boxes and gaming systems, as well as flat panel displays and projectors using the HDMI format. Support for HDCP compliance ensures it will work with protected content on Blu-rays and other DVD devices.

Its small form factor (each box measures just one-inch high by three-inches wide) further improves the installation process by eliminating bulky equipment in the viewing area. It comes with two external power supplies and a set of wall mounting brackets.

NEWS: Gefen Equips Home Improvement Demo House

Florida Home Improvement Radio Show Builds Project Demo House from Ground up Featuring Hard Wired High Definition Entertainment System

ORLANDO, FL – Josh Smith, producer for the In the House Radio Show, set out to demonstrate his show's home improvement expertise by demolishing an existing two bedroom cottage and building a replacement house. Essential to the project was the mandate that the main entertainment center be located in the living room, hard wired for 5.1 surround sound, with an eye level, wall mounted flat panel television and no visible wires for power, audio and video using the HDMI format.

"The garage is equipped with air conditioning, an insulated door, plenty of storage for tools, as well as refrigerator hookups and a painted sealed floor, making it the perfect mans-cave," explained Smith. "The garage has also been hard wired for a wall mounted TV, so we needed a way to allow for dual viewing of HDTV in the living room and the garage."

With the installation of the audio/video system, Smith's main goal was to avoid post-installation drilling or cutting into the finished drywall to run cables. "I also wanted to synchronize the garage's A/V system to the living room to keep costs down," said Smith. "We wanted the option to view the same content in both rooms without using two cable boxes. In these economic times its nice to save on a recurring monthly cost like cable and have the ability to share a single box."

To allow for shared viewing in the garage and living room, Smith opted for the Gefen 1:2 Splitter for HDMI v1.3. Two long Gefen HDMI cables were hard wired into the walls for HDTV connectivity. "The HDMI cables used in the walls add a clean look to the A/V setup with no visible wires connecting the television to the cable box or power," he explains.

After the in-wall wiring was complete, the drywall was mounted and the audio/video installation finalized. "The A/V portion of the install went perfectly," he says. "And the Gefen splitter allows for dual viewing in the living room and garage, which is exactly what we wanted."

Smith performed the A/V installation himself, working with Universal Roofing and Construction, the principal contractor who created the framing to support the system as well as possible expansion in the future. "After the house is completed, this system will allow for the ability to watch a home surveillance system in the garage as well as in the living room."

Although the In the House radio show has covered kitchen, bath, patio and living room remodels in the past, it has not handled a whole house remodel until now. "So this was the perfect opportunity to give our listeners a taste of what its like to totally rebuild a house. It's been challenging, at times, but also a lot of fun."

About In the House Radio:
Launched in the spring of 1999, In the House is an Orlando based radio station featuring home improvement advice and discussions. Hosted by Ken and Jared Mellick, the show maintains a loyal following of dedicated listeners. Peterbilt Truck Centers Feature StrandVision Digital Signs

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Peterbilt Truck Centers Feature StrandVision Digital Signs

JACKSON, Miss. – Aug. 4, 2009 – Peterbilt Truck Centers, with locations in Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Alabama, has added StrandVision Digital Signage to its marketing mix here, with plans to install it at all seven locations.

Positioned in the service lounge and at the parts counter, the digital signs are regular flat screen televisions that show a number of promotional and informational pages. Peterbilt Truck Centers uses the signage to promote specials, including seasonal specials such as sun visors or air-conditioning service. It also advertises new and used trucks, the body shop, service and parts, and reminds viewers of its seven locations. Constantly updated national and local news, as well as weather reports with Doppler radar, are also shown.

The StrandVision Digital Signage software complements Peterbilt Truck Centers' other Web, email and print marketing. Explained Peterbilt Truck Centers General Manager David Henderson, "We have customers who bring in trucks and may spend a few hours in our service lounge, while others are at our parts counter. The StrandVision Digital Signage presents a perfect opportunity to let them know about what we have and, perhaps, sell them something. I don't have any question that we've sold some product from it and that it has even more potential."

Simple setup using PC-2-TV.net

The setup includes a personal computer that is attached to the regular computer network. The StrandVision digital signage information is delivered to the PC over the Internet and through the local network. The computer drives two flat screen televisions – one in the service lounge and one at the parts counter – using StrandVision's innovative PC-2-TV.net high-definition personal computer-to-television adapters.

The Parts Manager regularly updates the digital signage pages on all of the displays simply by visiting StrandVision's administrator's console over the Internet.

In summing up his reasons for selecting StrandVision, Henderson said, "It was a combination of things. StrandVision was very helpful and easy to work with, the price was reasonable, the product was easy to use and we didn't have to put in too much equipment."

About StrandVision

StrandVision LLC delivers low-cost, Web-based Software as a Service (SaaS) digital signage through a patent-pending approach that delivers content to subscribers' LCD and plasma displays, as well as computer screens and Web sites. StrandVision's Digital Signage software distributes text and graphics pages, including advertisements, video content, and national and local weather and news. It is ideal for medical and dental offices (patient education), banks, retailers and industrial distributors (video merchandising), employee break rooms (events and benefits), non-profit and religious organizations (member and supporter communications), and other organizations.

StrandVision also offers PC-2-TV.net, a fully digital, high-definition (HD) personal computer-to-television adapter for use with digital signage and many other applications.
